Dear family members and friends, In today’s Gospel we see a beautiful prayer of Jesus: “I thank you, Father. Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to the little children.”

In the second reading St. Paul reminds us, “but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.” In order to grasp the hidden mysteries, we have to be live by the Spirit. For that we have to be gentle and humble as Jesus is.

Today’s first reading also reminds us about the humility of Jesus who brings salvation to the whole world. Jesus invites all of us to go to him in order to have rest in the midst of our labours and worries. Carrying the burden with Jesus will make it light and easy. Amen.

Dear family members and friends, Today we celebrate the Feast of St. Peter and St. Paul, two prominent figures in the history of the Church.  The Gospel very clearly speaks about the primacy of Peter who declared the faith in Jesus, saying “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Jesus appreciated that and said, “You are Peter and on this rock I will build my Church.”

Same way Paul went around preaching the good news especially to the gentiles. Paul is very confident when he says, “The Lord stood by me and strengthened me so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it.” Let us follow the example of Peter and Paul to remain rooted in the faith in Jesus Christ and also to proclaim Him wherever we are.  Amen.

Dear family members and friends, Jesus gives a very strengthening advice to the disciples saying not to fear anyone except the one who can kill the body and soul. As His children we are always under the surveillance of the Father and are more important than any other being. We should understand our value as children of God and live accordingly without yielding to any evil.

The teachings of Jesus are very clear and they have to be proclaimed through our lives. We should never be ashamed of Jesus and His teachings; instead, our life should be one of witnessing to Him without any fear. In today’s Gospel acclamation we proclaim, “The Spirit of truth will bear witness about me and you also will bear witness.” Let us fulfil the wish of Jesus about us. Amen.
