Saturday 10th October 2026 at Westminster and St. George’s Cathedrals
Adoremus is the Bishops’ invitation for us to renew our devotion to the Eucharistic Lord. For register delegates from the Dioceses of England and Wales the Adoremus Mass at St. George’s Cathedral is at noon presided over by Archbishop John Wilson.
For all there will be space to watch the start of the Procession at St George’s commencing at 15.00, to follow online, to watch the Procession as it passes on it’s way to Westminster Cathedral (Stop and Pray) and to join the delegates for Benediction at 17.00, either in the Cathedral or the grounds of the Cathedral for which a live sound stream will be provided. There will then be Mass at 18.00 open to all, followed by Holy Hours at 19.30, 20.30, and 21.30 led by the Youth Ministry teams of Westminster, Southwark and CYMFed. These will be followed by an all-night Vigil from 12 midnight to 06.00.
What if God appears to us and tells us to ask what we need, how we will respond? The answer Solomon gave was, “give your servant, therefore, an understanding mind to govern your people, that I may discern between good and evil..” The 1st reading of today says, “It pleased the Lord that Solomon had asked this.” In today’s Gospel Jesus tells about the kingdom of heaven as hidden treasure, precious pearl and net thrown into the sea which gathers fish of every kind. What is important is to discern what is good for us and collect that. St.Paul reminds us that what is from God is for good. Let us pray for the grace to discern between good and evil and find joy in what God provides us. Amen
We would like to make you aware of a new type of scam that is now targeting individuals within our parish communities through WhatsApp.
Cyber criminals are increasingly using artificial intelligence (AI) to create convincing videos, voice messages and written communications while impersonating members of the clergy. Their aim is to deceive unsuspecting individuals into believing they are communicating with a priest, bishop, or other Parish representative before requesting money or donations.
We ask that you please remain vigilant and please encourage you to:
Never assume that a WhatsApp message or video is genuine simply because it appears to come from a member of the clergy.
Never send money, gift cards or bank details in response to unsolicited requests received via WhatsApp or other messaging platforms.
Always verify the identity of the sender by contacting the priest or parish directly using a known telephone number or official email address before responding to any request.
Dear family members and friends, Jesus uses a very familiar parable to explain the Kingdom of God: parable of the sower. Jesus presents four situations where the seed was sown. He Himself gives the explanation of the parable. It represents four types of people who respond to the Word of the Kingdom. All the people except the last group hear the Word of the Kingdom but do not receive it into their hearts.
Only those who are prepared well and are open to the Word and receive it into their heart so as to produce fruits and yields pleasing to God and people. As we listen the word of God various distractions may come into our hearts. Let us be prepared through prayer and repentance to receive the Word of God fruitfully. Amen
