Dear family members and friends:Jesus is using a very familiar and attractive parable about people being chosen for the Kingdom of Heaven. The parable says that those who were invited were not ready to come saying some excuses. Some even attacked those were sent to remind them about the wedding feast. Finally, the king asked the servants to invite from among those who were not chosen earlier. There also was a problem: one who entered was without wedding garment and he was thrown out. In today’s first reading from the Book of Isaiah, we see the mountain of the Lord with a great feast and the people were waiting for the Lord. In both cases it is the Lord our God who is the host and He invites all of us to His banquet ie. the Holy Eucharist. It is not enough that we accept the invitation, but we have to be well prepared for that making ourselves worthy to be received in to the Kingdom of Heaven. Amen
The Rosary in October begins this weekend. For the whole month of October there will be recitation of the rosary immediately after each Mass.
Next Sunday is Prisoners’ Sunday. The second collection is for PACT the national Catholic prison charity who support prisoners, people with convictions, and their families.
Following the morning Mass next Sunday there will be refreshments available in the hall. Do come and spend a little time in conversation with your fellow parishioners before you go home.
Harvest Thanksgiving will be celebrated at all Masses today. We invite parishioners to make offerings and donations of dry goods – packaged and canned – and to bring them to church where a table in the foyer is set up to receive them and after Mass they will be blessed.
Also, welcome to Deacon Derek Swain from the Sacred Heart parish in Sittingbourne who will assist at both Masses and will give a short address after Mass on the Permanent Diaconate in the Archdiocese of Southwark.

Next Sunday is Rosary Sunday and we celebrate the memorial of Our Lady of the Rosary next Wednesday, a feast to remember many victories and advantages gained by the church in time of fierce persecutions in the 15th Century, through praying the rosary. Let us try to make time in our busy lives to pray the rosary daily.
Today is Evangelii Gaudium (Home Mission) Sunday. The second collections provide the bishops of England and Wales with resources to support Home Mission, the spread of the Gospel in our own country.
Thursday is the feast of Our Lady of Walsingham. There will be the usual morning Mass at 10am and Solemn Mass at 7pm preceded by recitation of the holy rosary at 6.30pm.
Next Sunday is our Harvest Thanksgiving Celebration. We take this opportunity to invite parishioners to make offerings and donations to be blessed after Mass before distribution to those in our community. We would kindly ask you not to donate fresh food, for obvious reasons.
