Clergy Support Fund Second Collection

Next week we will be holding the Clergy Support Fund second collection. The Clergy Support Fund enables the Archdiocese of Southwark to care for priests in their retirement, old age, and at their time of ill health, after their lifetime of service and devotion to Christ, His Church and His People. You will find Clergy Support Fund envelopes on the newsletter table.  A donation to this fund will ensure a dignified retirement for all of our priests. We kindly ask you to continue praying for our sick and elderly priests, and consider donating to this worthy fund.  Thank you.

If you have some time to spare to volunteer for these roles, or any of the other behind the scenes roles that help the parish function, please speak to Fr. Jose or sign up on the noticeboard.

Becoming a Catholic?

Are you an adult who is not a Catholic but who would like to know more, a Catholic who has not be confirmed or who would like to review your knowledge of your Catholic Faith? If you would like to know more, please contact Fr. Hans for a chat.

Receiving Holy Communion

We welcome all visitors and those who do not regularly worship with us at St. Simon Stock.

If you are not a Catholic, or are a Catholic who does not regularly attend Sunday Mass at a Catholic Church, you are welcome to come forward for a blessing. If you would like to receive a blessing, please fold your arms across your chest in the form of a cross and the Parish Priest will give you a blessing.

Those receiving communion are reminded that the host must be consumed before returning to your seat.

Mass Intentions

Each time he offers Mass the priest can offer the Mass for a specified intention, such as for someone who has died, for good health for a sick person, or in thanksgiving for graces received. To book a Mass Intention please use one of the envelopes available by the newsletters; write the Intention on it, and details of the date and time of Mass, and your name and contact details if you want the details to be confirmed. If you indicate a preferred date, the Mass will be offered on or about that preferred date. If you would like to be sure of a specific date, please speak to Fr Jose or Thereza. Put your donation inside (£10 is a typical amount) and either put it in any of the collection baskets or hand it to Fr. Jose.
