White Flower Appeal 2025 And Collection Next Sunday

The Society for the Protection of Unborn Children (SPUC) will be having their appeal second collection next weekend. SPUC exists to transform culture so that abortion is not only abolished but becomes truly unthinkable. The Society is actively leading the fight in the courts, classroom and culture to achieve this mission. Through these efforts we will restore a respect for the sanctity of human life to our society from conception until natural death. This year’s appeal postcards, which you will find on the newsletter table, allow supporters to join the fightback campaign against the current threats in Parliament to expand…

Christmas Offering Envelopes Available On The Newsletter Table

The offertory collection taken during the Midnight & Christmas Day Masses is traditionally your personal gift to your Fr. Jose. A priest’s income is normally whatever he receives from the parish (mainly Mass offerings). This collection at Christmas forms an important part of Fr. Jose’s income for the year and enables him to meet personal expenses. If you can gift aid your offering, the parish can benefit from the tax refund. To do so write your name and address on the envelope provided, or use one of the Gift Aid envelopes available in the church foyer. Offerings made by cheque…

Becoming a Catholic?

Are you an adult who is not a Catholic but who would like to know more, a Catholic who has not be confirmed or who would like to review your knowledge of your Catholic Faith? If you would like to know more, please contact Fr. Hans for a chat.

Receiving Holy Communion

We welcome all visitors and those who do not regularly worship with us at St. Simon Stock.

If you are not a Catholic, or are a Catholic who does not regularly attend Sunday Mass at a Catholic Church, you are welcome to come forward for a blessing. If you would like to receive a blessing, please fold your arms across your chest in the form of a cross and the Parish Priest will give you a blessing.

Those receiving communion are reminded that the host must be consumed before returning to your seat.

Mass Intentions

Each time he offers Mass the priest can offer the Mass for a specified intention, such as for someone who has died, for good health for a sick person, or in thanksgiving for graces received. To book a Mass Intention please use one of the envelopes available by the newsletters; write the Intention on it, and details of the date and time of Mass, and your name and contact details if you want the details to be confirmed. If you indicate a preferred date, the Mass will be offered on or about that preferred date. If you would like to be sure of a specific date, please speak to Fr Jose or Thereza. Put your donation inside (£10 is a typical amount) and either put it in any of the collection baskets or hand it to Fr. Jose.
