The offertory collection taken during the Midnight & Christmas Day Masses is traditionally your personal gift to your Fr. Jose. A priest’s income is normally whatever he receives from the parish (mainly Mass offerings). This collection at Christmas forms an important part of Fr. Jose’s income for the year and enables him to meet personal expenses. If you can gift aid your offering, the parish can benefit from the tax refund. To do so write your name and address on the envelope provided, or use one of the Gift Aid envelopes available in the church foyer. Offerings made by cheque…

These two young men, one from the early 20th century and the other the first twenty-first century saint, will be canonised next Sunday by Pope Leo XIV. The canonisations highlight the universal call to holiness, the importance of faith in the digital age (for Carlo Acutis), and the call to serve others (for Pier Giorgio Frassati). Receiving Holy Communion
We welcome all visitors and those who do not regularly worship with us at St. Simon Stock.
If you are not a Catholic, or are a Catholic who does not regularly attend Sunday Mass at a Catholic Church, you are welcome to come forward for a blessing. If you would like to receive a blessing, please fold your arms across your chest in the form of a cross and the Parish Priest will give you a blessing.
Those receiving communion are reminded that the host must be consumed before returning to your seat.
Mass Intentions
Each time he offers Mass the priest can offer the Mass for a specified intention, such as for someone who has died, for good health for a sick person, or in thanksgiving for graces received. To book a Mass Intention please use one of the envelopes available by the newsletters; write the Intention on it, and details of the date and time of Mass, and your name and contact details if you want the details to be confirmed. If you indicate a preferred date, the Mass will be offered on or about that preferred date. If you would like to be sure of a specific date, please speak to Fr Jose or Thereza.
