Dear family members and friends, Something very significant happened on eight days after Easter. That was a special appearance of Jesus to the disciples especially to Thomas to make him believe that Jesus was risen. There we see the most important declaration of faith by Thomas, “My Lord and my God.” This Sunday is also called ‘New Sunday’ marking the start of a new spiritual life Traditionally it is the day on which the experience of the new Christian life begins, particularly for those who were baptised on Easter Sunday. Let us renew our faith in Jesus declaring Him as our Lord and our God and continue our Christian life more faithfully.

Today is also celebrated as the Divine Mercy Sunday when we remember the love and mercy shown in Jesus. Entrusting fully to Him let us say, “Jesus I trust in You.” Amen

Dear family members and friends, In today’s entrance Antiphon we sing, “I have risen, and I am with you still.”  This is the message of great hope. As we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus, we are called to the joy of a new life, a life of great hope and renewal. In today’s Gospel we are given the narration of the empty tomb which is a reasonable proof of the resurrection of Jesus, which is otherwise hard to believe for many. It is a unique event ever in the history before and after. St. Paul exhorts us to seek the things that are above because our life is one to appear with the risen Jesus in glory. On this Easter, let us remember that we are not simply to be bound to the earthy things, but are to set our minds on things that are above. Amen.

Wish you all a very Happy Easter with all its blessings.

Parish News – 29th March

Dear Parishioners,

The parish website is updated with the Mass times for this week Fr. Jose’s weekly message, the weeky newsletter and church notices.

Our repository shop has Easter cards and cards for other occasions. Easter candles, prayer books and bibles, rosaries, statues and many other devotional items.

We are looking for singers to help with the singing of the Liturgies during the Triduum and on Easter Sunday. If you would like help, please see Thereza Baker or email on the parish email address.

We still need 5 men to take part in the traditional symbolic washing of the feet during the Mass of the Lord’s Supper on Maundy Thursday. Please sign up on the sheet on the noticeboard if you wish to volunteer.

Finally, following the Mass of the Last Supper on Maundy Thursday there will be adoration at the altar of repose until Midnight. We are asking those that can do so commit to watching for at least one 30 minute slot from 9.30pm.

Have a great week.
