Dear Parishioners,

Today is the Day For Life. It is the day in the Church’s life dedicated to celebrating the sacredness of life. The theme this year is ‘The Wonder of the Child in the Womb’. The proceeds from today’s Day for Life collection provide core funding to assist other life-related activities supported by the Church.

Also, the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children (SPUC) will be holding their Join the Fightback Day. Show your support by joining SPUC’s campaign to defend unborn babies and their mothers. If enough people stand up for the pro-life cause, politicians will have to take heed of concern

This Tuesday is the National Day of Prayer and Fasting for Life. Please pray and fast for the end of abortion and euthanasia in this country. Your prayer and fasting is urgently needed.

Lastly, we are looking to make a reader’s rota for weekday Masses so that this ministry does not fall on the shoulders of just a few parishioners. Give your name to Fr. Jose if you would like to offer to read during the week.

Dear family members and friends, Jesus gives a very strengthening advice to the disciples saying not to fear anyone except the one who can kill the body and soul. As His children we are always under the surveillance of the Father and are more important than any other being. We should understand our value as children of God and live accordingly without yielding to any evil.

The teachings of Jesus are very clear and they have to be proclaimed through our lives. We should never be ashamed of Jesus and His teachings; instead, our life should be one of witnessing to Him without any fear. In today’s Gospel acclamation we proclaim, “The Spirit of truth will bear witness about me and you also will bear witness.” Let us fulfil the wish of Jesus about us. Amen.

              

Archbishop John Wilson’s Pastoral Message on The Dignity of Every Person

In a Pastoral Message to the clergy, consecrated men and women and lay faithful of the Archdiocese of Southwark, Archbishop John Wilson reaffirmed the conviction that “as followers of the Lord Jesus, there is no place for racism”.

Fr. Jose – Parish Priest

Dear family members and friends, One of the great qualities of Jesus is compassion. He healed many people, blessed many and comforted many. All these were because of His compassion to people.

In the first reading the Lord reminds the people of Israel about how He rescued them from Egypt and lead them. It actually shows the compassion of the Lord towards them. In the second reading we are reminded of the love shown to us though we are sinners. It is also because of the compassion of the Lord. Now in the Gospel we see Jesus choosing twelve disciples and sending them to proclaim the kingdom of God ie. the love of God and His compassion. Amen
