A Message From Fr. Jose – 4th January

Fr. Jose - Parish Priest

Fr. Jose – Parish Priest

Dear family members and friends: Happy New Year! We have already entered the New Year 2026. We pray that this year may be one with abundant blessings from the Lord. What is the greatest blessing that we can have? The Communion Antiphon taken from today’s Gospel reminds us: To all who would accept him, he gave the power to become children of God. To become children of God means to become inheritors of the grace and glory of God. In Jesus there is fullness of grace, truth and glory. Let this new year be a time to follow the true light and life. We are again reminded that all things were made in him, the Word and let that Word be the guide for our life. Amen.

VOLUNTEER HELP NEEDED FOR THE PARISH

We are looking for more parishioners to help with the various tasks that take place to make the parish run smoothly particularly catechists for the sacramental programmes (a DBS check will be required), choir members, collectors, counters, cleaners, help for the running of the repository (shop), parishioners to help with a Social and Fundraising Committee. If you have some time to spare to volunteer for these roles, or any of the other behind the scenes roles that help the parish function, please speak to Fr. Jose or sign up on the noticeboard.

FREE CATECHETICAL SUBCRIPTIONS

The Southwark Agency for Evangelisation and Catechesis continues to look for ways to extend and enhance the provision for training and formation for catechists specifically and lay people in general. From Scripture to parenting workshops, to catechetical training and mentoring, there is something for everyone. This offering is free to everyone until 30th September 2025. Each parishioner, as well as teachers and parents in our schools, are invited to create their personal account to access the workshops. Would You Like To Join Our Team Of Altar Servers?

We are looking to recruit some new servers from among those young people who have already made their first holy communion to join the team who serve at Sunday Mass and at other Masses throughout the year.

If you feel that you can undertake this commitment please ask your parents to talk to Fr. Jose. A period of training will be given before you join the regular serving team.
