Dear family members and friends, One of the great qualities of Jesus is compassion. He healed many people, blessed many and comforted many. All these were because of His compassion to people.

In the first reading the Lord reminds the people of Israel about how He rescued them from Egypt and lead them. It actually shows the compassion of the Lord towards them. In the second reading we are reminded of the love shown to us though we are sinners. It is also because of the compassion of the Lord. Now in the Gospel we see Jesus choosing twelve disciples and sending them to proclaim the kingdom of God ie. the love of God and His compassion. Amen

Dear family members and friends, Today we celebrate the Feast of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, the Feast of Corpus Christi. In today’s Gospel Jesus said,” For my flesh is true food and my blood is true drink. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him.” Jesus further said, “Whoever feeds on this bread will live forever.”

St. Paul says as we read in the second reading, “Because there is one bread, we who are many are one body, for we all partake of the one bread. “All these tell us the importance of receiving the body and blood of Jesus in the sacramental form, i.e. we live because of Him. In the first reading we are reminded about manna. God fed the Israelites with manna in order to make them know that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord. Amen

Dear family members and friends, We start our prayers: In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. The greeting is: The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Again the blessing is: May Almighty God, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit bless you. Besides Sacraments like Baptism are administered in the name of the Trinity.

All these remind us about the Holy Trinity, the Triune God. Doctrine of the Holy Trinity is the foundational Christian doctrine. Today’s Gospel reminds us about the love of God to send His only Son so that all those who believe in Him shall have eternal life. Let the unity of the Triune God be an inspiration for us to closely stick to our faith in the Triune God. Amen

Dear family members and friends, Today is the Pentecost Sunday. It is the day when the promise of Jesus was fulfilled. The first reading is a description of what happened on the day of Pentecost. The Holy Spirit descended upon the Apostles in the form of tongues of fire and they were filled with the Holy Spirit and they began to speak in tongues other than theirs and all the people who heard them speaking understood what they were speaking. That means there was an infilling of the Holy Spirit in the people also.

St. Paul reminds us that we all are baptised into one body by the one Spirit. Holy Spirit is the greatest gift of the resurrection of Jesus when Jesus breathed on the Apostles. On the Pentecost day there was the manifestation of being filled with the Holy Spirit. Let us pray for this infilling and power of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Dear family members and friends, today we listen to the priestly prayer of Jesus. First of Jesus glorifies the father and prays to glorify Him because he had manifested the name of the Father. Thus, Jesus glorified the Father on earth by accomplishing the work given to Him. Jesus also prays for all those who believed in Him as they continue to live in the world. He accepts all them as His own and as such they are of the father also.

Jesus reveals that intimate relation between the Father, Jesus and those who believe in Him. In today’s second reading Peter refers to this relation as even to share in the suffering gospel of Jesus and be glad. The Apostles continued this relation after the ascension of Jesus by devoting themselves in prayer together with Mary and others as we hear in he first reading. Let us try to glorify the Father by accomplishing the work given to us and being one with Jesus in prayer. Amen
