Fr. Jose – Parish Priest
Dear family members and friends: We are on the fourth Sunday of lent. This Sunday is also called Laetare Sunday because it is a time of joy breaking through in the midst of preparation and penance. Today’s Scripture passages lead us to an experience of joy. The first reading speaks about the selection and anointing of David as the king of Israel. That shows the concern of God for His people. The Psalm declares that the Lord is my shepherd and there is nothing I shall want. The second reading reminds us to walk as children of light and do what is pleasing to God. The Gospel reveals Jesus as the light of the world who gives real sight as he healed the blind man. The Communion antiphon proclaims: The Lord anointed my eyes: I went, I washed, I saw and I believed in God. Let this lent be a time to wash our eyes, see God more clearly and have real faith in Him. Amen.
