Lilian Sheila Salmon RIP

St Simon Stock Catholic Church Website Administrator

It is with great sadness that we report that Sheila, a long time parishioner, and friend to many in the parish, died at the William Harvey Hospital on Sunday 3rd January aged 85. Her energy, enthusiasm and service to the parish were undimmed even by long term illness. She was a fundraiser for the RNLI and had raised thousands of pounds over the years for that cause. Many of us will have received one of her beautiful, handmade cards at Christmas or birthdays. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her and Saturday morning coffee will never be the same again without her cheery presence. Sheila’s funeral Mass will take place here on Monday 8th February. Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, numbers of mourners are limited but if you would like to send a card of condolence, or message of sympathy to Sheila’s family, please give them to Fr. Hans or any of the stewards and they will be passed on to them. Let us pray for the repose of Sheila’s soul, and for the Lord to give strength to her family at this time of sorrow. May she rest in the peace of Christ.
